Plantation Forresting

Sustainable forests are all the talk at the moment, and for good reason. With a depleting natural habitat it becomes all the more important for us to use materials that help sustain the environment for us and future generations.

Sustainable forest management (SFM) is the management of forests according to a set of guidelines adopted at the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED). It encompasses sets of criteria and indicators that have been developed to evaluate the achievement of SFM at country and management level. A range of forestry institutions now follow and practice these guidelines in the hope of achieving both better product and a healthier world.
Bygreen One Tree products and Bygreen Paper Straws come from some of these sustainable forests. FSC Certification documents are available on our download page.

SFM can be described as attaining balance – from society’s increasing demands for forest products and benefits to the preservation of forest health and diversity. This balance is critical to the survival of forests, and the survival of forest-dependant communities and animals.
